More congrats keep rolling in! Interesting narrative in that last post. You may recognize some issues right now but more will become apparent during the first full season of use. The warranty work I had at the 12-month stage made me a happy owner!
We're keeping all the caveats in mind, Bob! And we're going to keep referencing the posts for problems specific to this model, including the head-up about sliding mattresses! Yikes.
Terry just came in to tell me the cosmetic glitches are no more, and now I'm embarrassed about even mentioning them. He adjusted the plastic trim piece on the bulkhead by slipping a putty knife behind it and pushing it up to the ceiling. He'll put a small piece of molding across the end to finish off the end gap.
Then he easily slid the center tinted pano guard panel in its track to center it properly and clipped it back into position.
So far the trailer otherwise seems perfect for being a hand-made item.
We'll see how next weeks shakedown goes using all the systems.
Cheers,
Janet
Lovely setting for a beautiful Safari....I'm still on cloud nine but it doesn't compare with that first night home! I wish you many happy "firsts" and there will be many.....keep the pics coming! BTW, what camera are you using...they really are first rate!
We're heading for the beach tomorrow as we can't resist with the San Diego weather here this week....we're not so lucky to have her on our property but this will do as long as the winter santa anna's are in town!
Good luck, happy trails, and enjoy your new and very beautiful Airstream
Thanks for those kind words, Klattu~
And Barbara, you are so right about the excitement of bringing it home. It's great! And I know we'll continue to love it, but the newness of these first days is just so much fun. We won't be keeping her in this spot on the driveway, but are enjoying the convenience for the time being. Then she goes elsewhere to covered storage until we build a shed/barn on the property sometime in the spring.
And thanks for the comments about the photos. Our camera is a Canon 5D.
Enjoy the balmy reprieve down there! We're having crisp gorgeous days with a full moon on the rise...
Janet
I was so excited by your pictures I had to post, we just ordered our International 25' FB this week and seeing your beautiful pictures makes it seem so real! (I'm thinking we should sell the house and buy one with RV parking.)
Welcome to the forums, neighbor!
We ordered ours a week before you…
Let’s keep in touch… I’ll send you a private message.
Some of us heard that AS prices go up Dec. 5th or 6th…
Looks like we ordered just in time!
finncrew, you are going to have so much fun with your beautiful International CCD. We visited one the other day and almost gasped when we saw the interior. It was absolutely gorgeous--clean, simple and elegant. Have fun, and enjoy those first days of ownership!
Oh and Jerry, I'm just not familiar with this term "borrow" that you're bandying about. You're kidding, right?
Janet
Mark,
We're going to be at New Brighton this Sun. if the weather holds. If you're out that way, stop by site #75. We'll be practicing attempts at boon-docking procedures. In the true Santa Cruz spirit, there will be wine and cheese and beer and chips aplenty. Getting the impression that's the true A/S spirit too!
