Bathroom light question, 2007

Ok, here goes. My first post.

We just bought a very clean 2007 19ft Safari SE. My question is the only way to get the light in the bathroom to work is to use the switch behind the sink. This causes the ceiling light to turn on. Seems like the bathroom/toilet area should have a separate light to not disturb others in the middle of the night?

I may have to rewrite the bath ligh from the bath fan.

interesting. Could explain why mine doesn't work, will need to try that. For now I just put the LED pucks in there and in the shower and they seem to do just fine, but would be nice to have a bright light when taking a shower.

We have a 2005 19' Bambi, and the light fixtures over the toilet and the bathroom sink both have switches on them. We leave the "bathroom light switch" next to the water heater switch ON all of time, and use the switches on the ceiling light fixtures to turn them ON and OFF.

If your Bambi's light fixtures over the toilet and bathroom sink don't have switches, your model and year Airstream may not have the same fixtures as ours; or the previous owner may have replaced them.

Have you by chance replaced those bulbs with LED ? Would like to get a very bright one for the head and shower area to get some more light into the shower area.

Same was true in my 2008. The fix is to re-wired the bathroom light to pull 12v off the little bathroom fan, so it could operate independently of the factory light switch .....

Looks like I will need to re-wire also if I want to split the light fixtures from the one switch.
The lights over the bathroom sink only have that one switch, ie next to the water heater.
The good news is that I can now turn the lights on in the bathroom, so I have light for showers.

The small led puck lights seem to do well for the middle of the night trips to the head, since I don't really want a blaring light at that time of night anyway.
