Find a local tool and die shop. They can make you up a die set with the VIN# off your model/serial plate to the right of the door and have them stamp it on the A-frame. The best place is on the inside of the A-frame on the curbside between the clamp bracket for your anti-sway and the front of the trailer. That way once your tanks are installed the numbers will be in a very hard to see spot except for the people who know where it's stamped. The larger numbers on the outside of the A-frame on the streetside are a supplers part number for the A-frame assembly. Once it's on the frame wire brush it to put a little wear on the edges and paint it black. Then remove the surface black paint and Voila' you have a second location. No one ever said it had to be "Factory". Everyone is happy and you can register and title in California! Ed
P.S. Check the first digit to make sure it is a 1. My trailer is a '67 and the first digit of my serial is an I which means it has the International trim package. If it was a standard trim package that first digit would be a O. Hope this helps, Ed
