I got a '68 Overlander

Hey all, just thought I'd start contributing to this section of the forum. I picked up a '68 Overlander in May.

It was delivered to me by a friend, while at Burning Man, which was an awesome experience. I've been going to the gig for 11 years, 3 in a rented RV, the rest in a tent.

It is stored in Reno for winter, and I can't wait for a trip out next summer. So far, I managed to lose the rear compartment door, but have bought a replacement.

More later

Thumbs up I got a '68 Overlander

Congratulations, Yomster!

Wow! Gladys sure looks pretty - and fancy too, what with with her blue stripes and those gleaming red, white and blue International placards. California girl or Ohio? I'd love to see some inside pictures when you next get to see her.

Our '68 Overlander International twin ("Rosie" from California) wasn't treated nearly as well by previous owners as your Gladys looks to have been, but after three years of TLC, Rosie's starting to look like somebody cares.

I've printed your photo of Gladys just to remind me as to what Rosie once looked like - and inspire me with what might I be able to do to bring some of that exterior beauty back.

Best Wishes,

Jim

That looks real clean, especially for the year. Do you have any interior pictures yet? As for losing the rear door--many people attach a couple of small chains to the door, in case it pops open it won't be forever gone, just reattach it.
And I'm sure it's just the camera angle, but how the hell did they get the trailer that close to the barn?

Thank you! She's an absolute gem. Interior is very good too. She's been well looked after; new wood floors, receipts to the sum of $4k+, and a load of work done to her.

Overlander63: As they say "every picture tells a different story" - it's not that close to the barn

Jim, I'm going to spend a lot more time on getting her ready for the inevitable trip to the UK. She'll be travelling around the US for the next 4 years.

Some more pics.
