Boondocking in San Felipe

Last winter we spent some time in Puerto Peņasco where we parked on the beach at a place called Sandy Beach for $5/night. No services but a near-by RV park offered a dump and fill for $7.

Anyone know of any low/no cost spots in the San Felipe area?

In March a few of us followed Uwe to one of his favorite spots just past San Felipe. It was Punta Estrella. Unfortunately, although it was quite beautiful, the prices had gone up. I think it was about $30. A great deal of development has started down there and many of the beach sites are being subdivided. The campgrounds are getting their last hurrah and charging the big bucks. I guess we are partly to blame. We are building a house down there now that the laws have changed.
There are some spots further south of Punta Estrella where you can just pull out on to the beach. They are not established sites and there is no one charging $. You do have to be careful of the tides though.

It's now possible for Non-Mexican citizens to own property close to the coast. I believe it changed about 10 years ago. Ron
