Window Treatments / Valance Boxes

Decided to have the decorator help out with some added color. After doing the rear curtains and a matching bedspread, decided to make valance boxes with the same fabric. After putting those up, I wondered how it'd look to have curtains that matched. While I really like the Int'l Signature's sleekness, there is something to be said for a bit more color. Here's the result.

Bab,

Looks like you did a very nice job. Perhaps you could give us some details on how you made the valance boxes.

Looks Great!

You can probably make them any size that suits you, but lighter wood seemed to make sense -- so I used 3/8 inch poplar (not plywood), used some small wood screws and glue for assembly, covered the boxes with the same fabric as the curtains (used spray contact cement), fabricated cording for the edges, stapled this on...and mounted using simple angle brackets (one olympic rivet at each end), and screwed the boxes into the angle brackets. Used spring loaded curtain rods. Only two holes in the A/S for each box.

That looks amazing. So much better than the new curtains that the new trailers come with.
