We would like to add new window shades to our 1976 31' Sovereign. It had simple roll-up blinds which we have taken down. because they were dirty and yellowed. Has anyone installed the type (day-night?) that are in the newer Airstreams? Are these blinds unique to Airstreams are can they be purchased elsewhere?
Thanks
Jack
I don't know if your shades are like the one in my Overlander's kitchen, but the man who made my new curtains (James Ambruso Inc.) said that when I buy a new shade, get the clerk to "reverse roll" it. I don't know exactly what this means, but I think it has something to do with which side of the material the pattern is on when the shade is unrolled.
If you find a non-Airstream source for your shades, you might ask about reverse rolling.

Jack,
The shades you describe can be purchased at either camping world or a custom order drapery shop. The top and bottom of the blind is anchored so swinging about will not be an issue. You will need either some narrow curtains or a end box valance to offer 100% privacy since they will hang away from the wall between mounting points.
