Window Shade Repair

I am hoping someone has some ideas on how to repair/replace the window shade in the front door of a 1976 Caravaner. The bottom edge is almost completely unstiched. I would appreciate insights from anyone.

What kind of blind is it... Do you have a pic...

May you have at least one sunny day, and a soft chair to sit in..

Sheila - Welcome to the forums.

I am at a loss for what a door shade in a 76 might be. A picture would be very helpful.

If it is anything like our 1987 you will have to drill out the rivets and remove the inside door skin in order to replace the blind.

Or you can do like we did...I pulled the blind out as much as I could and then used a razor knife to cut the blind off the roller. Then measured and purchased a spring loaded curtain rod and a cheap curtain. This method is a lot easier than removing the interior door skin.

Ours came unstiched as well a while back. I unrolled it as far as it would go and pulled the bottom out of the door opening. I re-stitched it by hand. Took about a half an hour. All fixed.
