Thanks!

Thanks for your input! I guess the "fur" was on the walls for a much longer time period than I realized. I bet it would be great insulation. I have a shedding dog, though, and don't want to have to vacuum the walls too!

What about leaks? Does the fur disguise leaks, ie make it hard to be immediately aware of problems?

Thanks again!

Recent Classic models through the model year 2014 have the covering. The single 2015 Classic model has bare aluminum walls and ceilings.

We had a shedding dog....not a real problem getting on the mouse fur. I typically vacuum the walls once or twice a year...hair was never an issue.
Leaks show up on the fur as a darker spot...like most fabrics. Water staining can occur, though I haven't had to deal with it. Others say Oxyclean will take care of spots.
It really has little r value as an insulator, but you don't get the cold "falling off" the wall and chilling you , like bare aluminum.

I think the only trailers lately with fuzzy walls are the Classics. My '13 has it. 14 is the last year for it. The 2015 Classic is redesigned with no mouse fur and no padded vinyl ceiling and no cheesy wall paper clad plywood walls and no ugly wallpaper border-

Please don't leave us hanging like that....what are they going to use to cover the walls, ceiling, and cheesy plywood walls?

Our 2001 Safari has the mouse fur walls except in the galley area where they used patterned vinyl covered laminate. The PO hot glued a picture behind the cooktop and it pulled off some of the vinyl. We are putting in an aluminum tile backsplash to cover up the damage. I cleaned all the mouse fur with the upholstery tool on a Bissell carpet cleaner after we bought it. Did a nice job. DW used oxyclean on some stains apparently created by condensation dripping off the aluminum window frames. Came pretty, but not perfectly, clean. It is very thin, only 1/16" or so on a Formica-like backing. But our 11,000 BTU AC has been doing a great job in 90 degree heat so I think the mouse fur has some insulating qualities. A white box we looked at was uncomfortable with a 13,500 BTU AC.

I don't mind the "mouse fur" inside my Classic. But what I really really REALLY hate is the term "mouse fur". Such an ugly term for something that is really not that bad.

Yea, I don't mind it at all either, and from reading this thread, I think there may be several different types of material being talked about here. Our Classic, and the ones we've had prior, had a type of carpet on the walls.

Steve, yes prototype....but we're right at introduction time....wonder when those pics were taken. I kind of like the fur and padded ceiling as well. It does insulate more than one would think....both noise and cold/heat. Maybe not thermally, but certainly conductively. (that's not a word, is it?)

Got it in my 2006 Classic. I clean it with carpet cleaner - cleans up nicely and is great for insulation.
