Want to remove original interior paint finish on 64' what is best way?

Have heard that Kleen paint stripper works well. Is that true?

I found the strongest stuff from Home Depot or lowes (not the stuff that changes color when it's ready) to work just fine. The Citristrip stuff that I had used to remove clear coat on the outside of the 69, and for various projects around the house didn't touch the original zolatone.

The stuff from the hardware store in the large metal cans (regardless of brand) will cut through the zolatone. If you can get the aircraft stripper from a auto paint store, it will be much more expensive but will cut it faster. Generally I found one coat went through the zolatone, and one more coat took the rest and the primer they used below it.

The original flexible vinyl laminate on 70's trailers has a plastizier that spews to the surface and gets tacky. If that is your case, you need to clean it off with a detergent cleaner and then sand the surface to get a surface that you can adhere to. Then use a oil based blocking primer like Killz. That can be followed with a latex or oil based paint.
