Arrow Wall clock

Is there any special hooks to hang the wall clock. I just acquired a 2007 20' safari and would like to hang a wall clock.

Congrats on your new Safari, Zia..that's a great model! If you don't want to put a hole in the interior skin to accommodate a hook you may consider a heavy-duty Velcro solution...and if you are afraid that it may fall during travel you can take it down and puat it back up when you arrive....

See you down the road!

wall clock

A good idea, I would prefer a more permanent solution. I have seen ball wall clocks in one Airsteam as a dealer.

You are probably thinking of the DWR (Design Within Reach) Bambi...it has a Nelson Ball Clock in it... I don't know how they are mounted, but I'll bet an Airstream dealer can tell you. Here's a link for pictures, one of which showing the clock: Airstream, Inc :: Photo Gallery Photo Gallery It is very cool. Good luck!

Wall mounted clock.

Hi, Zia; I found a nice clock that my wife and I like and I mounted it with a picture frame hook; The one that I used, looks like two "E's" with the one on the wall faceing upward and the one I mounted to the clock faces downward. Then they snap together and the clock will not fall off. To remove the clock to adjust time or replace the battery, you use a small screw driver to release the locking tab.

Do a search for "Hillman Flush Mount Hanger" #122207" w/spring lock. and you will see what I used.

I just used industrial velcro:

The velcro has not let me down in two years.

Now I'm glad of the velcro:

ROBERTSUNRUS: I really like your clock!
Also, is that thermostat factory standard? I've grown to dislike the one I have (under the Stetson) quite a bit, and thinking of switching it out.

Cheers,
-jd.

I used a 3M Command Strip hook. I remove the clock when traveling and store it in the overhead locker.

The nice thing is the hook can be removed without any damage to the wall surface.

We found an approx 12" dia aluminum framed round clock at IKEA. It's lightweight, and has a thermometer and a hygrometer built in on the face. I attached it with velcro strips, but just the hook part, sticking it up on the "mouse fur" wall covering above the dinette seating.

Hi, 5cats. we found this aluminum and glass faced clock at Target. I hated the original, manual thermostat so I found this one at Home Depot. It is digital and can be set at the temperature you want and shows the temperature inside of our trailer. I purposely found one that did not have a five or seven day programmer; I felt that it would be useless unless we lived in our trailer. It has two switches on the bottom. One on the left controlls the heater and the one on the right is for air conditioner and not used.

Thanks TB and Greg. I already baught a ball clock.
Bob your suggestion for the mount is an excellent idea and that is exactly what I was looking for.
Thanks to all the folks for their valuable suggestions, I really appreciate for all the help.
I have another issue with air vent cover over the bed which gives too much light in hte morning. Most of the covers are tranlucent, any idea.
Should I just paint it black?

Vent cover.

Hi, Zia. Like this? I bought this cover kit from Camping World and I trimmed it down in size so I could use the same screws that were in the original trim. I also removed the crank handle and replaced it with a window knob.

Flush mount clock

I am going to mount a 12-volt VDO dash clock from a Porsche on the panel near the stereo. I like the clean look with the chrome trim and the white face. Also comes in the black.
This is for a 2007 19' CDD.

It's actually just a German made instrument, often found in older Porsche's and BMW cars.

Camping World (and others) sell little window shades that mount on the trim around the vent with two screws. The shade hooks on a 3rd, smaller, screw. Nice thing is that it is easy to open when you need the vent and it is self storing.

I had a photo of mine in my "Great Ideas" column in Airstream Life a while back.

It runs on battery power, so if the master switch is off, it would probably just stop, unless it is wired before teh master switch.
I had falsely assumed that it was readily available like all other VDO instruments, but the site I quoted does not carry the clocks, only the matching gauges.
So, we have to dig a little bit deeper...

Trying to find all of the correct VDO gauges/clocks in the right trim is a big headache. I've been down this road finding matching gauges for my aircooled VW:
Try this link for a Vision (thru dial lighting, color changeable) clock:
