We used some silver metalic vinyl for wall panels.
Still designing couch...
Found some great foam at Interior Mall.com
So many grades, firmness etc.
Used 2" extra firm on seats in Feathercraft and 2" firm on backs.
Is so much better than the foam at local suppliers.
They have about 6 levels of firmness.

You can usually get the coupons in the sunday paper. Or when you go Joanns, sign up on their email list and they will send them to you and you just print them out.

We have shelled out $110 for the upholstery fabric, and $36 for the backing material.
There is about 25 "man hours" in to this project to date. The wife and I are working on this together. I am helping with the "engineering" side of things and she is working wonders with the sewing machine!!!!

We are re-upholstering the front gaucho in our '67, The foam will have to last one more season, but will be replaced as soon as possible. That is estimated at $260.

This project I would have to rate as a 7 out of 10 for difficulty. We took apart the old gaucho cover to make a pattern for the new one. I think that this is what made this possible.

Still major kudos to the wife for her work on the sewing machine!!!

Those of you who have followed our travel log (link in signature) or know of our Airstream antics know that Greg has been creating a variety of "décors" consisting of slip covers, curtains, bedspreads, pillow shams, throw pillows and window valances for our 2006 19' Bambi. He has created new "décors" for other Bambis and would probably take on a different model AS if it was where he could have access to it. So far he has limited himself to newer Bambis...those that don't need new foam, etc, but whose owners want to freshen or customize the interior look through slip covers and accessories. One would be hard put to tell his slip covers are just covers because they are so tailored and well executed. Below is a sample of his latest..."Paradise"... the dinette, curtains and bed area in our Bambi ...more pics of this and other décors can be found on the thread we started about claiming your Airstream's interior for yourself...even if it's a fairly new one that doesn't require renovation or restoration... http://www.airforums.com/forums/f39/...own-35036.html We also show some of the décors in our "member photos"...

Nice Look! I think we are going with the tropical theme in our AS as well. My husband is polynesian and we ALL KINDS of decorative items to help with the feel. WELL . . and we can't forget the Electric pink flamingos!

Is your Gaucho one of the "Fold-Over Sofas" or does it fold out by sliding the bottom out? How many yards of fabric did it take.

Mine is the slide out style. The seat and back are one piece that is hinged in the middle. From looking at your profile, mine should be the same set up as your Tradewind.
We purchased 5 yards of the upholstery fabric and 4 yards of the backing fabric. There is about a yard of upholstery fabric left over after all is said and done. I just wanted to be safe and not have to run out and pick up more and try and match patterns.

The splice was to have the pattern look right. I believe that Airstream was using this pattern around 2005

My Trade Wind's PO removed the gaucho and cut the corners off a king size mattress that filled the entire trailer from the door forward. I don't have anything original.

I got a new dinette from soldiermedic for the Excella and am having Gene at Airstream of Arkansas try to get matching cloth from the mothership. The upholstery on my fold-over in the Excella is in great condition, but it would be nice to match. It also has the arm rests, so that would be additional material. I use a wireless desktop with a lap desk from the Lane recliner in the photo. I am soon going to rip up the carpet and put down cork tiles from Lumber Liquidators: Browse & Refine Products. That should lighten it up a bit and make it easier to keep clean. I have been looking for a photo of the cloth I am trying to get, but can't find one here. I will add that when I get home.
