sun bleached wood

Some of my paneling appears to be sun bleached. The trailer spent the last eight years in the same parking spot. Is this something I can sand out, and restain? Or is there an easier way? Thanks Tom

Have you considered testing some spots with a wood conditioner? i have a 63 ambi and put orange oil conditioner on my cabinets when i first got it and they glowed! i have also used wood refinishers on old furniture with nice results.

Hey I used to work with a mountain man a long time ago, and we would re-furbish these wood benches that would fade and bleach out. They required some light sanding and then an application of "min-wax clear" polyurethane. And this would restore the wood to it's former beauty. These other people tipping you off about this too are right also...one way or the other you will be able to fix this problem...sneaking up on the issue and researching will get you to the target with winning results.

I have a number of antique furniture pieces... sometimes similar things have happened... at many antique stores they sell small tins of a liquid furniture restorer (the name escapes me... sorry) but essentially what it does is melt the old finish and you spread everything around with steel wool or cloth and it will all take on the same finish color... it looks much improved. It is a short and easy process. You might check that out if you can find the color you want. Good luck.
