Score on upholstery fabric!

We went out looking today for materials to start the restoration/renovation of our Argosy. We stopped into our local Habitat For Humanity Re-Store and found rolls of donated upholstery fabric for $5-10 a roll. The area we live in is home to several office furniture manufacturers. We wound up with over 30 yards X 60 in. wide material for $15. We are planning to also pick up some formica sheets as well, which run about $5/sheet.

Habitat used to have deals here but they raised their prices a LOT. I skip them now.

Eastern South Dakota is very pretty with hills, rivers, and trees.

Wow!

Good find! Before you go to reupholstering please double check to make sure that there are no blemishes, or dry rot. It would be hard to have the job done and find a problem.
Sounds like a fun store to visit!!

When I was in high school, we used to get tons of this fabric donated to our shop class. 3rd yr. shop class was upholstery...we did one "community service" project, 2 recovers and then built a 3 position recliner from the ground-up (2 of these projects still reside at my parents' house). The material is generally very good quality and recently stylish from several major office furniture manufacturers...I believe that some of the laminate materials come from them as well.
