Review - Silver Threads Curtains

I'll try to keep this short and sweet. I think the pictures say just about everything that needs to be said. Anyhow…

My wife and I own a 2006 28' International CCD. The original color scheme was teal-ish and honestly just not our style. So we decided to make a few changes.

One of the first was replacing the curtains. The stock curtains were thin, cheap and discolored from time in the sun. I'll never understand why a trailer that costs north of $50K has what feels like such cheap interior finishes.

So after doing some research, I came across Tammy and Silver Threads. After exchanging a few emails and getting the right measurements, my wife and I went fabric shopping. A week later, Tammy sent us the new curtains.

They fit perfectly, and the details in Tammy's work are pretty staggering. Blackout fabric on the reverse side. Perfectly-placed curtain rail connectors. Velcro tabs in just the right places. And button snaps just like the original curtains.

The original curtains were pleated, but we chose to go with the non-pleated / flat look, and I'm glad we did. The clean lines echo those of the trailer, and hopefully it's a choice more people will make in the future.

Overall, I give Tammy's work 5 stars out of 5, and I would gladly have paid twice what we paid for the quality of the work she did. I can, without hesitation, encourage anyone looking for new curtains for their Airstream to check with Tammy first.

Without further ado, enjoy the pictures below.

Those look absolutely fantastic! What was the name of the fabric that you ended up choosing?

I'll double-check the exact brand, style and color, but we purchased it from Fanny's Fabrics in Austin, Texas. (A great local fabric shop, by the way!)

I'll also be posting photos and a review of the new dinette cushions we had a local Austin upholsterer make. Look for that early next week!

Hi,

Tammy also made the curtains, and gaucho cover for Bertha, and after 14 months they are still in excellent shape.

I would reccomend her skills to everyone.

Thanks many times, Tammy.

Okay, so the fabric style is "Cosmic" and the color is "Lime." Apparently if anyone wants it they'll have to call Fanny's Fabric in Austin, Texas. They picked it up at a fabric show and have no idea who the manufacturer is or where it came from.
