My boyfriend and I recently purchased a 74' Overlander with a center bath. The PO went left many holes through out the interior skin from screws, nails and who knows what...
We have sanded down the rough edges and want to fill the holes before we prime and paint. What type of epoxy, putty should we use to fill these holes?
Update- We ended up going with a general purpose epoxy found at Home Depot. It seems to be working well. We'll sand down any bumps and excess and start to paint soon.
Another option for filling in extra srew holes is to put a rivet in it. Much more secure than an epoxy that might shrink and pop out with the trailer moving down the road.

I go with the put a rivet in it thought. At least it will look like it is supposed to be there.☺

Do you know what a learning experience is? A learning experience is one of those things that says "You know that thing that you just did? Don't do that."
When we converted the rear closet of our 71 Tradewind to a shower, there were various holes left in the end cap, which is painted with Zolotone. Webspinner filled those with epoxy and then painted the entire bathroom endcap to get rid of the "mental hospital green". Worked like a charm and
waterproof, unlike pop rivets.
In the rest of the trailer, I tend to use rivets for small holes since we're not repainting.
Replacing rivets works for small holes, but the PO left large holes (largest is the size of a dime) in some areas. We're having to use multiple coats of epoxy to make sure it is sealed.
I made patches out of stock aluminum and rivited them on before painting the interior with Medusa Grey Zolatone. You can be creative with the shapes or make them round. You can't see them much after painting and are permanent, unlike epoxy. This works if the interior is aluminum like my '55 FC.
At the 4 Corners Restoration Rally last year, someone in one of the seminars had a solution for the larger holes. I thought I had written it down, as it sounded much better to me than metal patches, but for the life of me, I cannot find it in our information. Anyone know it out there?
