Pleated Door Hanger parts

Anyone know if these clips are the right parts to repair the hangers of the pleated pocket doors on recent Airstreams. Mine is a 2012 25 EB and the end cap of the door has a busted plastic hanger part that rivets into the top of the part. The plastic hanger slides in the railing mounted on the ceiling in the hallway.

That looks correct. You can contact Cheryl at Irvine Shade and Door Inc and she will send you replacement hangers free of charge. Her phone number is 574-522-1446.

The Dicor part looked a bit beefier on the top but the wrong color and the spread of the fork is a bit too narrow. Decided to install it instead. Took quite a bit of effort to get the rivet through both sides of the fork as it spreads into a 'V' so these might break in the middle instead of the top cap. Time will tell...

This is the information I needed. Thanks guys. I will be calling Irvine Shade. Now my question is how do you remove the broken hanger from the pleated door and how do you attach the new ones?

I had to drill the old rivet out.

I used a pop rivet. I bought a bunch of different sized rivets from Airstream Which use the correct metal to be used on the exterior... aluminum. Any rivet material will work on this fix as you are riveting plastic, though softer metals like aluminum are less likely to pull through the hanger part. One of the rivets I bought from Airstream had the correct rivet mandrel diameter for the Dicor part which was 3/16".

If you haven't done any pop rivets before, take the door hanger part to Lowes/Home Depot and find the rivet with the correct mandrel diameter and one that mentions it can rivet to the width of the new hanger part. I wouldn't worry too much about the rivet head size, but wouldn't go bigger than what I did in the photo previously posted. You'll need a hand riveter tool.

Airstreams are all about rivets!

Irvine came through, how to install?

Hi, I was able to follow your guidance above to secure a new plastic parts. I'm not sure what do to with the brass grommet fittings they sent. Any suggestions? I guess I can go the rivet route but I'm guessing they sent the for a reason. Thanks in advance.

After I drilled out the rivet, I used small 6-32 (or 8-32) bolts and lock nuts through the brass bushing. It it ever breaks again, it’ll be easier to fix.
