Pictures of different wall coverings?
I've seen some brushed and polished aluminum, original cloth and lots of wood. I am thinking of trying to cover the interior of the next project with a vinyl/leather material. Possibly on a light tan color or white on the ceiling with a black wainscot starting 2 or 3 feet from the floor of the trailer.
I'd like to consider some alternative materials and coating option from the wall so if you have any ideas post em' and if you have any pictures put them up too.
I'll start it off with a bubble i worked on last summer. it is 1/8" birch glued, riveted and trimmed out with solid birch 1/8'' X 9/16" strips which required steaming to make the tight bends.
first time posting an image so bear with me.

Chizlam how about this. It's HIPS ( high impact poly styrene) and looks like leather, only .040" thick and is available in self adhesive or non adhesive. 39" x 102".

We are very new AS owners - 1 day into this. I would like to lighten up the walls. Has anyone ever used beadboard on the walls? Any suggestions would be great.

First off, welcome to the forums and congrats on your new trailer!!
I would be concerned about two things with adding beadboard...
1) adding that much weight &
2) making the curves - even the "flat panels" aren't really flat in an Airstream Besides, I think beadboard would actually have the opposite effect you are looking for.

Have a look around this site. It's all in German, but some web browsers (like Chrome) offer translation. The link above should open up to adhesive films in leather look, but that's only the beginning.
Some pretty wild stuff, if you take the time to look...
[edit:] I was just about to order some online, when I discovered that the product can not withstand high temperatures. So sorry, not good for use in Airstream trailers!

Our airstream is from the early 90's and the panels are PLASTIC and ugly and cracking. I REALLY want to replace them, I am sure I can get them off, but what am I going to replace them with and how will I know they fit? GULP. I am afraid new ones would never get back on.....

Our new "tile" backsplash.
Here's a quick photo of the tile we added to our head backsplash. I really hated the border on the wall. We knew we could not really "tile" the wall because of the grout. We discussed this for a year and after much thought about the process, installed it on Sunday afternoon in about 3 hours. We used 12" x 12" glass tile sheets. We used adhesive from the Home Depot that comes in sheets, as well. It's really just a finish and not at all waterproof. I think it looks great and am now thinking of finishes on other walls of the A/S. We changed the faucet to a single handle last year (2004 31 Classic, no dinette, aft queen).

I used marine carpet in my MH as wall coverings. It's available in many colors, water & mold resistant and installs easily. I used an air compressor to spray upholstery adhesive and had pre-cut the material to a close fit then trimeed the excess off for a perfect fit.
One nice unexpected benefit is that pictures or whatever you would normally hang on a wall do so easily with velcro tape, using the hooked side. I have picture frames, clocks, etc., attached to the walls this way and have never had anything fall of in the two years since I did it. Even driving on some incredibly bumpy roads. I do however check them from time to time just to be certain. You can see some photos of the covering in my photos section. I used a black and red color scheme. Also it cleans easily, just use a hand held vacuum.

I got after mine while the weather was acting up...and put one good coat of spar varnish on all the wood in this one..made a world of difference, nice and shiny- even if I did get a little dizzy during the application port....

We went with some paintable wallpaper. It's thick & textured so you don't see the seams of aluminum sheeting on the walls. We used wallpaper border glue to hold it on. Look here in posts 9 & 10 to find it.
