Painted vinyl walls long term performance?

I have read several threads in the past where someone painted over the vinyl walls of a 70's era trailer. I am curious to hear from some of those folks as to how it is holding up over time. I am concerned that the vinyl will continue to produce the sticky stuff, and that this will cause the paint to eventually release. Any feedback?

We primed and painted with a quality paint after a solid cleaning.

Still looks good after 5 years.

The better the prep work, the longer they will last.

Any quick and dirty prep work pointers (beyond the obvious scrubbing them clean)? I've tried to apply paint over slick wallpaper in the past and it didn't stick well. was told that an application of "liquid sandpaper" was needed.

Scuff it lightly to remove the sheen, scrub it with TSP, wipe it down, good primer, good paint.

Go camp.
