Our new couch

When we bought our new to us 2000 Excella last month, for some reason the couch/gaucho was missing. So, since we have restored a couple of campers and made tons of curtains and covers, we figured we would tackle the job ourselves instead of paying the high price for a flex steel. We used a pattern that we found on the forums, Thanks to whomever posted it, and looked at my brother and sis-n-laws several times and off we went. We ordered the slides from vintage trailer supply and picked up the wood at lowes. I found the fabric at Hobby Lobby, and the rest is history! Oh and of course I had to cover the valances to match! For some reason I cant load pictures, so here is a link to my web site where they are located.

It looks even better in person.
Tammy, are y'all back home, or still traveling?

That looks really nice! we need a new sofa/gaucho too, can you point us in the right direction for the pattern. Jim is an upholsterer so he can do the job, we just need to figure out what fits, since our bed is not original and has pinched Jim's fingers one too many times now.

Fabulous looking couch!

Silver Threads,

That looks beautiful!

Would you be able to post the measurements of your new couch? It looks like it has more room than the standard. Our trailer has 17.5' in the interior, so our sofa needs to double as our sleeping bed too.

As JCINNY asked, it would be great to be pointed in the right direction for the pattern to get a start. I've been doing some searching and haven't come up with it, but thankfully I found yours.

Thanks!!!

Tina

We decided to change our couch area and had our carpenter build in an L-shaped sofa with storage underneath. We travel contantly and love it!

Jim has redesigned the area that is our sofa bed. It had an old futon cushion on it that was too large and too high. Jim cut down the base and has made new cushions for it. since our "airbaby' doesn't "live" with us we can only do projects when we go to it. We are going up tomorrow for a long weekend to put our new resilient flooring in and bring the new cushions with us. Even though our AS is a 1984 we are hooked on the 70's retro, having had those years firmly implanted in our memories. Our new cushions are a very retro fabric and color. I will try and post pictures when we come back, I dont have all the curtains done yet but most will be going up this weekend also. I am looking forward to everyone's thoughts on our job....

We rented our house and moved into an apartment. The only problem with this is not having the Airstream in the driveway where we can walk out to it antime that we want. I can't stand it!!!

As far as our couch, we are going to make some changes to the size. It is very comfortable as a bed but the seat cushion needs to be just a little wider.
