New Partitions - What's the best technique?

I'm working on cabinets and new interior partitions and I had a general question about what is the best technique to copy the shape of the interior shell to create panels.

Is the stick trick or magic stick the best way?

Thanks,

Doug

Ah yes. Unless you have a laser profiler, the storystick is the way to go!

Ahh Don, you are a man of discerning taste and discriminating intellect!

Doug, with the story stick technique you can get close enough to do adjustments with small amounts of hand planing. It's just necessary to align a reference plane in line with what you want. The bigger the better - yes. If you can use a reference scrap half the size for scribing onto and keep it flat, that's all it takes. Just level your trailer first the more square and plumb you want to keep it -- but don't expect perfection from what originally came out of Jackson Center.

sharene showed some interesting work earlier today -- not sure how they did it though -- Beds & Bulkheads - Looking back to front First section will be a cutting station w/cabinets for storage underneath. Photo Gallery

Thanks. I need to make five of these panels and I have the original aluminum channel set aside. In the picture you referenced, what type of aluminum channel is that used to hold the panel to the wall?

Laser Scribe? Sounds interesting where would you get one
