I have the inner skin out of my Globetrotter to replace the floor and reapir some exterior damage. The plan is to make a CCD style interior with new aluminum skins on the straight sections and cherry ply interior end caps to match the new cabinetry.
I have a couple of questions about how to proceed. New .032 2024-T3 would cost about $1000. Is this grade of aluminum necessary for the interior skin?
Could I make new skins from a less expensive grade? OR could I re-install the old vinyl coated skins and glue new aluminum to the old skins. This thread got me wondering about the glue on method
