Need Info on Folding Door Track Tabs

Since my 63 Overlander didn't come with the actual folding accordian doors, I am in need of the tabs that slide along in the track so I can sew them to some curtains. I have seen a number of differnt style curtain slider tabs for sale on various A/S-related websites, but do not know what I am looking for. Anyone have a picture of or suggestions for what I need?

-Thanks
Tracey

Accordion door Tabs

Here is what I have. The one on the left is for the door. The one on the right, I am told is for sewing into fabric. Sorry about the blurry pic. But you get the idea.

Squrlgurl,
I'm looking for the same tabs. I'll try to get a picture of what they look like. It may take me a while. I have not had much luck locating them. I was going check out company's who manufacture window coverings and see if could find something close.

No Idea, I only have the one extra one. I have seen the others someplace, just don't remember where. Problem is if you get used ones they too are 30 to 40 years old. Argh !

No Problem. Let us all know if you happen to stumble across a bunch of them. My door is in tough shape. Red Green would be proud of my duct tape skills.

YAY! Thank you C Johnson. I actually think I saw the sew-on tab on the right for sale somewhere....maybe at RVWorld in Annapolis. I will check and get back to this thread if I find them.

I am assuming that I will have to remove the track from the frame, slide the tabs on and then re-screw the track to the header. Any thoughts?

Yep, you do have to remove the track. Be careful not to dent it. Dents in the track will prevent the tabs from sliding well.

Funny this all should come up now. I just purchased an accordian door and it came with all of the original tabs. Glad to know there is something available to replace them with if need be. Now I just need to get the aluminum mounting strip polished, sew up a loose seam and install the whole thing.

They are also available in Camping World, in boxes of ten, as well as our favorite vintage Airstream parts store, Inland.

Our Overlander has the sew-on tabs for the curtain, with a curtain, and no accordian door. I don't know if it was factory, but that curtain has been hanging there a LONNNNG time.

Ask and you shall receive!
I've wondering about those tabs for a while. Thanks to all. By the way, for what it's worth, my 61' Overlander has a folding accordian door in which I'm 99.9% sure in original.

While on a short road trip , I happened to stop in CW yesterday up in New Jersey and picked up 3 boxes of those sew-in tabs. Hope they fit my track.
Thanks for the tip that saved me the shipping !

Rivet Sew-In Tabs...the Sequel

Tracey,
Did the tabs fit your track?
My accordion door is fine, but I have no Bathroom door
Does it look like the track for the bathroom door and the track for the bedroom door are the same size on your trailer?
Appreciate the feedback. Have fun with your new silvery playtoy!

Mary, since Tracey and I have virtually the same coach, I can answer that question. It is the same size track, although ours was nothing more than a track, with nothing left but a single tab dangling from it. WhenI tried to take it down, it came apart in my hands. We went to Kmapart and got a curtain rod, and Marie made a pair of tab curtains to take the place of the mangled track and nonexistant door. Here is a photo of what we did:

Maztoz,
Overlander63 is right, the tracks are the same size. And the tabs fit perfectly in them. Just unscrew the track from the frame and insert tabs. I haven't sewn mine into the curtains I bought yet. I got heavy fabric long drapes from WallyWorld ($8 a piece) in a muted gold. Hubby wanted something that felt substantial and private while in the potty. If it is too thin for him then I will line that panel with a blackout fabric. (Men!)

BTW, I bought the tabs that have the criscross panel at the bottom as shown in Overlander63's original pictures (sew-in type).

The PO of our trailer had done a ramshackle job of installing curtain rods, mixing screws and nails with probably some heavy drinking involved!,so I really wanted to stick with the tracks and repair teh damaged wood.
