looking for silver blinds for windows...
We have a silver metallic mini blind on our kitchen window, and I really like it!
Is there a source for these blinds that would fit our other windows? We have a Safari 28W 2008 named Mabel!

Several years ago, we ordered silver mini-blinds for our 2005 Safari's kitchen window through Home Depot.

silver blind sources
Steve's Blinds and Blind Chalet, both online, had silver blinds and send free samples. I'm going to check Home Depot tomorrow.

None at our Home Depot yesterday. Menards had some custom ones to order from Bali for $81/pair. A little above my budget.

I did all the windows in my trailer with the 1/2" aluminum (silver) blinds from blinds.com. I sent them the sizes I needed and they fabricated them perfectly. Not that expensive either.

Did you fasten the bottoms down? With magnets?

Yes. Worked perfectly. I attached some 1/2 inch aluminum tabs at the base of each window, then glued 3/8" "super" magnets (from Rockler.com). The blinds stay right where they are supposed to unless I pull them off the magnet base!

I don't understand the aluminum tabs part. Does the bottom rail have a magnet glued on and the rail attracts it? I thought aluminum wasn't magnetic.

Blinds.com! Inexpensive, fit perfectly (used the kholister method for securing miniblinds) http://www.airforums.com/forums/f39/...ds-106474.html and could NOT be happier!!

I'm really glad that you liked the blinds....I thought blinds.com was a fantastic supplier. Really quick turnaround, and don't you think the blinds look perfect with our interiors???

Absolutely! I got the brushed aluminum budget blinds and they really make a huge difference from the beige plastic ones that were there. I am trying to convince my hubby to get the same type for the slider windows along either side of the motorhome (where curtains hang currently). LOVE them!!

BAB and lorinwa, how were you able to use blinds on the curved windows on the front? Or don't your trailers have curved front windows?

Any one have ideas on what to do with the two curved windows at the front! I had my heart set on 1/2" alum mini blinds. Hate to go back to curtains, but if I do, I'll use Ikea rods. Maybe window film in just those two or three windows since they have the rock guard?

Well, you still need curtains on the panoramic windows. We have silver aluminum blinds on all the others, including the flat front window. But the corners have curtains. Even with a tint, you can still see in when the lights are on and it's dark outside. You could actually paint them black but I wouldn't advice it since they would no longer give you a panoramic view! You could try to design a vertical blind. I toyed with some ways to cover them with a tambour mounted vertically, but in the end the curtains look good.

How about having the curtains over the panos lined with light blocking material?
