Interior trims for around the windows...

Hey guys, I've got a 1984 34 limited and I'm searching for some surrounds for my front side windows you know the ones underneath the main windows a bit like the vista view windows but the ones under the main windows...I don't know what you call those sorry!

Basically I have bulky plastic/fibreglass shrouds that I'd love to replace with slim aluminium trims as in the picture below, just wondering what my options are short of trying to get something manufactured myself???

On my '77 they looked plastic but are actually painted aluminum. Maybe double check that they aren't indeed the same.

There is a 'current' part that is very similar, but but identical, used on current stack windows, and lists at ~$50, but the curve at the ends are different (a continuous semi circle rather than two radii with a short straight) so look a little odd.

I tried buying those and getting them modified, I tried having some bent from angle on a Hosfield bender, but in the end had to have some made from scratch. To do so the fab shop, cut the front face by water-jet, the return was bent from flat stock, the face and return were welded, then because I was using on a VistaView, I had to get the return filleted to allow the front the form a curve. $700 each (and I have 6 windows)!

tOmmie,

Yes indeed that is what I have. Now that I see the part referred to for yours, I get it.
I swore mine were plastic until I started messing with them, they just had that "feel". Shame, I was hoping for a happy surprise for you.
