Question Interior paneling?

I have been seeing photos of remodeled interiors with beautiful wood paneling.
This is something I might want to do in my 63 Tradewind. Is this possible? Is the paneling custom made? What about the bend it needs? Also is any of the cabinetry custom made? Being the beginner that I am I'm sure I will have a lot of questions. thanks!

I don't know if you have the interior skins off yet but man, I just got mine off and water stains all over the place. So unless you plan to re rivet and glue shmoo or keep it under cover when not in use I would stick to Alu.

I think many of the ones you will have seen are actually "quartersawn oak veneer", i.e. stick on wood paneling. Google will tell you more.

bubble oak interior

good questions and comments: feel free to check out my oak interior in a thread i started called "1956 bubble rebuild start to finish". i have some photos of the interior there. it's not that hard to do. cut 1/8" plywood to the same sizes as the panels, blind rivot them to the interior alluminum skin with small rivots at the edges, then use olympic rivots to install a 1" wide 1/8" thick solid piece of trim wood to cover all of the joints. cheers--ted

Let me get something clear here: you DO have real wood panelling, don't you? I thought they carried on with real wood panels until 1970.

Maybe yours need refinishing to "pop" as they say these days, but unless I miss my guess, you have real wood.

ps: Welcome to airforums.com

pps: Let's see your trayla! Photos! Photos! Puleeeeeze...?

Thank you everyone for so many great ideas, pics, and suggestions! Most interior wood, which I want to replace has been painted over. Some of it however is a very light color. I saw on pics. "Susie- 65 Tradewind" thread - this is what I would like to do or like the "Buble", but not whole interior. They both look beautiful! I also know weight is something you have to take into account.
