Installing bare alum ceiling

My wife fell in love with the new interior shiny alum finish, I'm thinking about putting a 4' wide sheet(s) down the middle.

Also want to add the halogens or LED's in the ceiling.

Any suggestions on what to use?

Also is it possible to snake down a light switch by the main door thru the horzononal supports?

I'll remove the existing center ceiling to save weight etc.

What type alum and guage should I use?

Bob, Halogens are brighter, but draw more power, and generate much more heat. LED's give less light, but consume MUCH less power, and are very cool in temperature.
You can snake a wire for a switch down, you can drill out the rivets on that particular panel to help get in there.

For your center top skin that is going to be polished, If it were me, I woud use a thicker .040 aluminum because it will not distort as readily around the fasterers. Any distortion around fasteners will be very noticable on polished skin.
