I just bought 60x80 4", 10' x 24 4", 10' x 12" 3", 2-25 x 74, all from a fabricator for $400.

And the 60x80 was cut to a curve in one corner from a pattern no extra charge.

As far as the upholestery |I had Tammy make mine "Silver Threads" they came out great she does super nice detailed work.

She also made my curtains, before you go anywhere else contact her, you'll save a ton of money and get great quality.

Be sure to post some pictures of what you've done. It sounds interesting; however, I'm not just sure what you ended up doing. We all love pictures here.

It looks like we are running a parallel course at about the same time. We took the front settee from our 66 Safari to an upholsterer 1-12-07. I don't have a photo of the seat, but the attached drawing might give you an idea of what we think is the original construction.

We have not had any complaints with the settee/bed during the 3 years we have camped in the trailer, and it will be constructed the same as the original.

Hope this helps.

Yup.....

This is good stuff, this is exactly why I joined the forums. I am glad this was worthy of your first post. Hope you keep them coming. Was this a drawing you did yourself ? Looks like a really good drawing. I would love to see some more pics of your Safari.

Kevo,
are you happy with the foam you purchased. I am currently looking for some and the stuff you used seems quite affordable. Is it comfortable to sit and sleep on?

So far so good. I have slept on it several times, (but not near as much as I would like). The rest of the Camper project is still under way. I might have gone a little thicker If i could have gotten the demsions right, but even with what I have, after you put a sleeping bag on top of it, you never hit bottom, Hope this helps.

Kevin
