Ice Cream Parlor Stools

Somewhere on here I saw an interior with two parlor stools like these:
Floor Mounted Bar Stool Chrome Swivel - 1207
I like the idea for my custom '65 Caravel. I guess one could pick the fabric color based upon his favorite ice cream flavor. Right?

I worked at a 50's restaurant when I was a kid. I have one in the mint green color. It's a trip....I'm looking at it right now. I would suggest adding some plywood, most likely 3/4 under the floor of the Airstream in the area you plan on using it, if you plan on mounting it. I'm not sure the standard 5/8 plywood on the floor, being part of the structure won't torque too much as one moves on the stool. I think if you mount it the added plywood section might provide some extra support.

I replaced my floor wiht 3/4 exterior. How about mounting the stools on opposing ends of a 3/4" by 10" red oak board and bolting the center of the board to the floor. I have been known to have lots of ideas but not enough time to materialize them.

Thumbs up

May just work!

Love my stool....if I ever re-did a basement, I'd for sure get more of 'em!

I have two in my 65 ambassador. I took the vinal off of the seats and stained the wood to match the interior. They are originaly from an old dinner that was torn down. I have not anchored them and they are pretty stable(lay them down when travling)

I like the idea you have on those ice cream palor stools ... go for it...
I think it will look great...
I don't really care for the bottom ones shown, they look more like something from the Jetsons Cartoon... sorry but I had to be honest...
