AZBambi: https://www.tbrich.com/azbambi/decors.html

My wife and I used AZBambi, a forum member, to make custom curtains, recovered cushions and matching accent pillows. They did a super high quality job and my wife and I were (and still are) exceptionally pleased. I highly recommend them. Here's their website: AZBambi Décors

we are in the process of finishing the restoration of our 1960 traveler [ 1959 comet layout] trying to stay original. wanted to include something with a retro look so i had a seamstress make me some curtains. the trailer has only 3 windows but we used 11 yards of fabric. she made the curtains double sided. I really like how they came out.

I have a full set of AIRSTREAM curtains,, came with my safari 23, they are factory white front, sides all hardware, I am changing decor(my wife is changing decor), so we will sell them. I knw they are outrageously expensive from airstream. probably a lot less from us.. Richard

>Tammy (Silver Threads) made curtains for our first Airstream

I just wanted to echo that the links for Silver Threads don't work, and I can't find them in the Google. Did they go out of business?

I have JPA working on ours.

Any photos are only in my minds eye for the new curtains I'm planning for the 1973 Argosy 24. I'll post in future, provided they aren't a complete disaster.

I'm just not a fan of pinch pleats, so I'll be using 1" drapery shirring heading tape which will give a flatter, shorter finish at the top and bottom of the drapes where they attach via G and C slides to the track. This tape (see photo showing 3" wide heading), available in 1" through 4" widths, gathers the fabric up to 3x fabric width, but can be loosened to 2x or even less. One could think of the resulting gathers as mini-mini-pleats. From reading advice here on Airforum, I will sew the hundreds of glides with elastic at least 3" apart.

A search for "drapery heading shirring tape" brings up a wealth of sources, if you want to try this idea on for size.

We are new airstream lovers! I am going to make our curtains but need to find glides for our 1969 over lander or Did you have any luck substituting glides for drapery tape?I have lots of sewing experience but don't want to make a mistake with the expensive fabric . Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check Vintage Trailer Supply for the glides.

I used 3" curtain stiffener at the top and bottom for the triple pleats when I did the curtains in our '71 Tradewind. Pictures are in our blog in my sig line.

Yes, I did use 3" stiffener top and bottom for the bedroom window lined curtains--the mid-weight cotton fabric really needed it. I didn't pleat those curtains, just sewed the glides on every 2 inches so that when open the curtains look pleated and organized, but when closed they are flat. Thus, the curtains can be pushed well back from the windows--lots less cluttered and gives access to the electrical receptacle.

Vintage Trailer is the place to go for glides with elastic--priced competitively and lovely service.

The front dinette ended up being our full time bed, so for privacy reasons, our curtains are seldom open. Our fabric is pretty sheer when backlit, so the pleats help for privacy and sleeping in past dawn.

newtoto.com has cheap interior fabrics

Webspinner, like you, we wanted privacy at our Argosy "Lounge" wrap around windows, but light enough so we won't have to open the curtains on a regular basis. I used a 1" gathering tape and unlined relatively heavy-weight cotton gauze which is not opaque to light but is not see-through even at night, due to fabric weight plus the 2x gathering. Also, the gauze is a bit stretchy so the curtains are taut to the window. They look rather professional, even if I say so myself. I'll post photos when they are up--still sewing on scores of elastic glides! Initially placed them four inches apart to test the fit, so now filling in at 2" intervals. I'll check out newtoto.com. My son loves working on the trailers, he has discovered, so we're on the look out for another Argosy project--time to think about another decorating scheme.

I'm about to have drapes made for my '64 Safari. I would really like to make them as original as possible. Does anybody have any pictures or know any details like how big the pleats are? What kind of fabrics did they use then? Any help would really be appreciated.

I need some curtains made

I suggest contacting Terry and Greg at AZBama Decors. I'm sure they would be helpful to you. However, I understand ideally you are hoping to find someone with a similar unit to get a go-by. Best of luck on your remodel!

Question

Who is JPA and where are they located? Also, do you have phone number, email address, or web site link for them? Thanks
