How were the early curtains held back?

I have a '64 Safari Twin and I'm about to have some new drapes made for it. I know that all the later Airstreams had a second drapery track on the bottom, but how did they hold the drapes back in the earlier ones? My '64 had none of the original drapes when I got it and there are no signs anywhere of anything that might have held the drapes back. I am trying to restore my Safari as authentically as possible and I just don't know what to do here. Please help. Pictures would be great.

Bungee cords was used at the bottom.

one of the tricks I've finally mastered is to check titles only and I searched for "Ikea+curtain"

This thread didn't address the bottom track, but I think you might be able to use this same Ikea track system for the bottom tie down.

In my old house I had sheers on the side lights and front door. Instead of rods there were clips with a SPRING stretched beween them to hold the bottoms in. Going around a curve would require some kind of hook - like cup hooks.

How were the bungee cords attached? Were they sewn into the bottom of the drapes?

The bungee cords were attached to a little bracket to the immediate left and right of the drapes, about 4 to 5 inches from the bottom of the drapes.

Then the drapes were simply stuffed behind the bungee cord.
