How much material for upholstery?

How would I find out how much fabric to buy to recover the sofa and dinnette cushions for an 87 34' Excella?

You can measure the length with a measuring tape. Remember when you buy fabric that it is folded in half. I bought 5 yards (15ft) and covered both mattress pads and the arms on my living room bed/couch. I only had maybe 5 or 6" of material left. If you want to measure it and send me an email, I will try to help you figure it out. I will post a picture for you to look at it.

Also be aware of what type of material you buy, based on width and how well you want the pattern to match could take a lot more material. IIRC the number was something like 15 yards?

amount of fabric

If you take your cushions to the JoAnn Fabric store closest to you they will help you calculate the amount of fabric you will need. They will also assist you if you choose a fabric which has a pattern or nap that is a one way design, so that you get the repeats that you may have correctly done in the calculation. I purchased my material there and they did a great job.

As

I wonder if you couldn't call the factory at Jackson Center and ask them how many yards it originally took???

If you buy new foam and it is a different size (5" or 6" high density) you may have to adjust for that as well.

Re-upholstered sofa bed

This may sound crazy but I am going to use a pillow to make step by step pictures since the couch is already done. It will give you an idea. it really was a lot easier to do than it is to explain, but I will post these instructions for anyone who wants to try. Be back shortly with instructions. Meanwhile here are pictures of the couch.
