There not so bad if you cook them in eggs or fried potatoes. But if eaten raw they have quite an ordor. One or two messes a year dose me.

Ramp, I ate a mess of you last season an WV... I cannot wait till they start pushing up again. A little fried ramps and some homemade corn whiskey...
It is a shame what happened to all the mountain people. Being told they were poor and needed the Government to change their lives by giving them a check and relocating them from their ancestral hollows. Mountain people rarely went hungry and were able to produce almost everything they needed. Now most folks have no idea how to make anything. Yes WE all do benefit from the national parks, but do you think they would have been allowed to do that say, in coastal Rhode Island. "Sorry folks ya'll got go and get, we are taking over this ocean front estate to create a national park"... right.
I love your chestnut, I have about 500bf in my loft waiting for the right project to come along. I think you need to plane it as thin as possible. Chestnut in very dense. It weights more than most other species of wood. You may be adding a lot of weight without realizing. Good luck with your project and keep us informed.

The next panel will be the one covering the frig. as you can see it is only a thin sheet of plywood. Also I will replace the end of the kitchen cabinets. Don't know if I will keep the flip up panel or not it is not very strong but it would hold some small item's.

I finished the frig pannel even put a small sleff to hold a picture of our Grandkids. Next the kitchen cabinet end then I will start on the front booth. By the way the wood at this stage has no finish Jackye will use some teak oil on it when she dose the painting {that's her department}. The interior will be some shade of white.

I just love the floor! That is so pretty! Nice touches with the wood, it will be a one of a kind and mean a lot to you and your family cause you did it!

Well today it is cold and windy and blowing a little snow so I have stayed in most of the day. I did take a couple of pictures one of a panel I have just done and the sink area which I am going to make a set of doors for. I think doors will be better than trying to replace the original roll up doors. After that is done all I have left is the biggest job of all building a front booth that makes into a bed. I've been putting it off because I don't know how I will go about it yet. I will search the post's and try to get some idea's.

Well I bit the bullet and went to Walmart and got a camera so maybe it won't be so long between posts now.

I have finished my sink doors and also the pantry doors so it would all match. Jackye painted the living area an off white and it looks much brighter now the old brown color was so depressing. The sink doors have been finished with teak oil and a top coat of poly I haven't got to the pantry doors yet you can tell they are a lot lighter. I made a chestnut paper towel holder to replace the metal one that was there. We hope to get our drapes done before the Springsteen rally time will tell I guess. This Airstream redo business takes a lot of time because you want to make sure you do it right so allow extra time for your projects.

I just got 3 pieces of drape hanging track from Vintage Trailer Supply and I can't see how it is going to mount. Someone had removed all of the old track. The problem is that the track will not bend to match the curve of the wall. has anyone had this problem before? Help!
