Mine look like they're 6" too narrow. They barely close in the front and back.

$1150 for one set? I could fly a seamstress in from Italy and have her sew a set for that.

Window Coverings

Finished our last project of changing our window coverings with a combination of blinds, curtains and film. That's it, wait I must be dreaming if I think I am finished.

I had the same issue a while back. As far as I could tell, JPA drapes is one woman working from home, and splits her time between Pennsylvania and Florida.
Maybe someone has better information.

hi - cool idea - how has that been holding up? Fabric spray on glue and then just lay a light cotton over the shade? I am intrigued! thanks Lori

Smile Custom Curtains

Hi, I've been admiring and studying Airstreams for 40 years. I own a 1981 Airstream Excella II 25FK and I am also replacing the original curtains. I live in Burlington, Ontario so I started searching southern Ontario for, basically, a seamstress. They are being made as an exact copy of the original curtains. What exactly do you mean by Shades? Pulldown? Blinds? I have both curtains and pulldown blinds on all of my windows.
If it's of any help, this is her contact information: Renee - Lamina

Exclamation Curtain Price!!

The curtains I'm having made are the exact same design as the originals. There are a total of 13 pieces ranging from 12" - 36" and the price? $1,300 Canadian or around $1,000 US. The material is basically an exact match to the originals (if not better) and it is Fire Retardant.
I think that's a great deal for handmade curtains.
Cheers, Paul

After having just made a full set of drapes myself, I can say that you are getting a steal, especially if it includes the fabric.

Between the main fabric and the lining I spent much more than half as much just on fabric.

Getting 13 panels for about $1,000 USD is a great deal. No matter how you look at it. Can't wait to see how they look once you get them installed.

Hi. Just to clarify, I'll tell you exactly what is going to be done by Renee. The price of $1,368.20 CDN (tax included) consists of the cost of the material (beautiful & fire retardant), the curtain slides, (G & T), slide elastic and metal snaps. The total length of curtain material needed is 25ft, the height varies from a couple that are 24" to many that are over 30". Basically, the price is for everything. I guess I could have just said that in the beginning. Sorry.
Cheers, Paul

We had new curtains for our 87 25-footer made by toady2222@bellsouth.net. Beautiful job for $575, which was way below value so we sent a bonus. Tried to attach photos. We sent the old faded/frayed ones as a pattern.

You got a great deal - the fabric & lining material alone cost that much for the ones I did this year.

Love to see photos of how yours turned out.

We paid an Airstream friend who also makes curtains to create blackout curtains for our 2015 23D identical in looks to the factory curtains. They were not inexpensive. The material was quite expensive.

Finally got a photo attached. These are the drapes from Beverly (toady2222@bellsouth.net). I believe her price included 17 panels. She really needs to charge a lot more for her work.

Her email is kind of sketchy, so it may take a couple of tries to connect. You can also go to Etsy and google “Airstream curtains.”
