Help on plastic edge trim inserts

I am looking for plastic trim inserts that go in aluminum extrusion trim. I am working on the galley and bath in a 77 overlander. Readily available RV trim insert sold as 1 inch really isn't. It's to narrow and soft to fit the Airstream trim extrusion. I have looked at the links provided in this forum but can't find what I am looking for. Here's a couple of pix of what I am trying to find. Thanks for any help.

Try searching these sites: Rockler.com and Brunner Enterprises.

Strips of linoleum work well and will match the floor if you replace it.

I've also heard of others using plastic from venetian (sp?) blinds.

I was unable to find this trim a few years ago. I ended up using aluminum colored heavy tape from a sign shop, cut to size and inserted into the groove. I did not remove the adhesive backing cover, but rather used it as it came. It looked pretty good, and as I recall, came in many different colors. My bath hed just been refinished in a very clean white color, so the silver tape made it look even cleaner. The old brittle yellowed insert just did not make it, visually.

You might try calling Airstream and getting a hold of the parts department. Send them a photo of what you need via email. It will be hit or miss with them as they have a variety of trims in storage - none that would fit my 71 by the way - but you could get lucky.

That insert is readily available from a parts stocking dealer.

Andy
It wasn't when I needed it in 2004. I asked everywhere.

Ron, I sold that particular trailer a while back, and did not take pics of the bath remodel. It was a wet bath, very small and awkward to take pictures of.
