Wow... a fabric place with free shipping, I love that idea & ebay sometimes has great deals if you find a good seller..

Maybe I can get the two panels on our twin beds in the rear redone... they are just basic boards with older striped material over them... not hard to do...

When I took the "board" that was screwed to the wall off to recover it, it was actually a piece of cardboard. the fabric was pulled tight and attached with sticky tape on the back, then screwed in. So i took a piece of cardboard, stapled my fabric to it, and screwed it back on. Pretty simple and looks nice too!

Arnie's new gaucho

I will try pics. Arnie the Argosy had totally deteriorating upholstery. Cut away the good stuff.(Not much left) I found bright retro striped cotton material and trimmed in faux leather. All accents were faux leather....saved bucks that way.

Karma for sharing this website - ordered some of the Fake Suede "Ultra Fern Butter" to try on the rear bedroom wrap-arounds.

Will post pics when (if ever) it's finished.

Silver Threads...thanks....I did it all myself. It really wasn't too difficult. I've had so much fun with Arnie the Argosy. Here are some pics of the bed area also. Arnie's remodel inside is just about finished. Arnie will be up for sale in the next few weeks. It will be difficult to let it go after all the TLC. Stella the Excella has a cool remodel also. Stella is staying with us. I'll post some pics of that remodel too if anyone is interested.

The hinge was the trickiest but just took determination. Like SilverThreads said, I used the old ones for the pattern. The scariest part was taking the first cut into the expensive fabric!!! LOL! The pictures are a little dark, but I think the fabric looks much better than the old orange and brown of the 1970s!
Next, I will try and tackle the drapes. Ick!

Well, sounds good to me. When can you start? How much. Where can I park while you do the re-upholstering? I can't find ANYBODY locally to do it.

I figured out why they are so high! Its the material and it takes a while to put them together. I made one so I could see if it was something I wanted to take on other than curtains. Still pondering that one....
