I am completely updating the interior of my new baby. Along the way it occured to me to install either brushed stainless or aluminum sheeting behind the galley to create that Airstream/diner look. I did a lot of research and after nearly buying plain sheet I found a fantastic resource. It is Rigidized Metals. This company has a wide array of stainless and aluminum sheeting that has been rolled with different patterns. The resulting product is a huge leap beyond mundane sheeting. IT is possible to order custom sizes or if you go the the Rigidized Store, one can buy pre-cut sheets on-line. Get this, for $36.00 plus shipping, one can buy a 36" x 48" sheet of .024 aluminum sheeting (plenty thick) with a great pattern formed into it. This is about as cheap as the metal itself at most supply houses.
I ordered two sheets and the service and delivery were excellent.

Thanks for the source. Was planning on covering the splash area in bathroom sike with one of these metals. What is your plan to hold in place ? Molding, adhesive or mechanical attachment?
Thanks for the info. I was going to install plain aluminum sheathing behind the stove and sink, but now that "Quilted" pattern shure looks good!

I went to the website but when I looked up the aluminum sheeting with a pattern in it, there was a charge of $150/sheet. Could you include the link to the actual page?
Ken---Thanks for the directions to this page. On another note, how did you attach this aluminum sheet? I'm going to order this to spruce up our interior a little but wasn't sure if you used adhesive to place this on the existing vinyl.
PS. I've ordered the 36 X 48 piece for our AS. Any suggestions on how to cut this to size? I have a jigsaw and was thinking about measuring for this and using a very fine blade to cut the aluminum.

shows every finger print with extreme conviction. And, it costs an arm and a leg, and a few other very valued body parts.
I will definitely be using these companies when I re-skin my door. I went to my own parts department and with my employee discount, It was going to be like $130 for a 24"x36" piece of AS Aluminum! I'd rather spend the time to forge my own sheet out of beer cans! More fun anyway!
Hey gang, since our aluminum sheet is enroute to us, I'd like to know how you attached this to the wall? Since the wall has the original vinyl covering, I'm not sure if this should be primed and than covered with an adhesive or what. Any input you can provide would be awesome!!
