bridor,
We had a roll up type blind originally in our door sandwiched between the glass and the inner door skin. It was dry rotted and hard to operate anyway so we removed it. I bought the narrowest vinyl mini blind available at a big box store, trimmed the sides to fit and got rid of the extra, unnecessary slats. Then mounted it inside the opening.
It works well, the inner skin of the door keeps the blind from flopping around--it stays put opened or closed. Sure beats that cheap roll up blind and looks okay, too.
The mounting hardware can be installed with a little patience and a long, thin screwdriver.
Good luck,
