Do they still make these?

Are these still made? It's the clip that holds the blind in place when you pull it down. Has anybody come up with a creative alternative? Struck out at the local hardware store...[/IMG]

Yes, they come with a curtain rod set. Don't know if you can buy them separately.

Looks like the bracket that is used to hold up a curtain rod--not the kind with the pull cord, the ones that are in style these days that just hold up the curtain.

If that doesn't work, someone who's good with metal work could bend you one.

You should be able to find those at any of the big box stores in the curtain section.

Here is a very similar set on sale on ebay. I did a search for curtain rod, then scrolled down until I found something close. Looking a little further you may find exactly the same brackets.

Any hardware store that sells roller shades will have those. They're very common.

How about just taking those off, cleaning and painting them...Rustoleum Silver Hammered paint would be great!

Check the local dollar type store. You will get a pair of them with the right type of extendo curtain rods. There is probably a hundred forum members who have a couple in the bottom of a junk drawer, I would wager.

Hi I am taking our 68 TW apart and I have a few sets of these. I think they are all mostly newer replacement curtain rod holders though. If your interested you can have them for free. I'll take a picture tonight or tomorrow morning and post them so you can see em.

Don't look anyplace high end for these. They are used for the cheapest cafe curtain rods. K-Mart would be where I'd start though WalMart probably has them too.

I actually need two new ones for the rear bath shade. While I'm at it though,, I might as well replace/refinish the two for the galley window.

I am interested for sure. I love it when I can stay out of the "big box" stores. If you want to send a PM we can work out the details.

Thanks so much to everyone who took time to read and post.

Bassfiddler:

I just took some bits and pieces to Millerpowdercoating off of Arcado in Lilburn. He can tumbel them and make those look like brand new. He is also doing other powerder coating for me. So if you can get a bunch of stuff together you can get a good price from him.

BaseFiddler:

I now remember what I did with mine. I bought a chinese knock off of a dremel at Harbor Freight in Lilburn. YOu are looking at 15 dollars. I used the wire brush on the dremel knock off and it took all the rust off curtian brackets you have pictured. Drill the rivets with 1/8 drill bit and take it off. For 7 dollars you can get another rivet gun. Harbor Freight has 1/8" rivets and a rivet gun. If you are going to have an airstream those are two musts you need. After you have wired brush the metal get 000 steel wool and use it on the metal. It won't scratch the metal it cleans it really well.
