It is 2011 -
We have a 2006 Airstream Safari 25 FB- new to us -
We love it but we need new curtains. The old ones gape and do not block light well. Any suggestions, considering cost etc?

There are roughly three basic choices for new curtains... You can find a number of threads and postings by searching (using link above in blue bar and typing "curtains" and "replacement"...

1. I believe the best and most expensive solution for choices, fit, light-blocking etc is JP Ambruso (or now jpa.com) firm in FLorida.. They have all patterns for existing Airstremas back to 1970's or beyond, and will provide swatches, measuring template for perfect fit and deliver with new sliders labled and ready to install. <You can also serch using term "Ambruso">
2. Second option is to consider one of other interior refurishing places advertising in Blue Beret or Airstream Life and have another shop make replacements. Several of the curtain replacement threads listed in archives have names of other shops or curtain-makers as well..
3. Third option is to remove and measure and fire up sewing machine (or call in favor from friend with sewing machine or offer cash...) and make them to fit.. The elastic-mounted sliders are available from Airstream or CampingWorld, and the fabric and velcro to hold closed are also available at lots of places...

Greetings from the Florida Panhandle

First off, welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us.

We have 2005 25FB that we have used extensively (800+ nights/70,000 miles). we have also washed the curtains in Woolite and they came out great. As far as light intrusion goes, we have silver reflective insulation material in the bedroom windows between the curtains and the glass. This keeps the bedroom sleepable after the sun comes up. It also helps with the ac and heat. You can buy this stuff by the roll at Lowes.
