Welcome

I guess your looking for the "foam" ...? If so, there is a good discussion here somewhere. Use the search....located above in the blue menu bar. Good luck. Get your "sticker shock" boots on.

foam

I found some nice high density foam at JoAnn Fabrics. If you sign up to be on their VIP mailing list you can get a 40% off coupon every once in awhile. I bought 4 large pieces and stretched the purchases out to take advantage of the coupons for several months. That really helped with the costs. I also ordered my fabric from them and used a coupon. Since I did my own reupholstery work I could wait and do that. Good luck with your project.
If you are not doing your own work you might be able to discuss the foam with the persons that you are having do the work. I know that SilverThreads, who is a member here, may be able to discuss that kind of work. There are several others. Having someone who is familiar with ASs is a good advantage.

Here is where we had our new gaucho cushions made:

www.lonasupholstery.com

She took care of ordering the foam for us and everything, and her price was VERY reasonable compared to others out there. We have pics of our cushions in this thread:

From IKEAI purchase a child size mattress for the one area that I needed some foam. Fits perfect and was $50.00. I also found foam cheaper that Joanne's on Overstock.com

Wally would have used latex for top of the line comfort and longevity...we used Foam Mattress Pads Memory Foam Platform Beds & More for our custom replacement cushions and had them dacron wrapped, and then upholstered by a local shop. Used a medium density 100% natural latex - 5 inches thick and we topped it off with a 1 inch latex topper which is "rolled" on with the mattress pad and sheets when we make the bed up at night. Very comfortable...but get ready for "sticker shock"...

Commercial foam off gasses a lot of toxic crap. You can get natural latex or other organic products, and they are very expensive.

One place not to get anything is from Airstream since they do a bad job with covering cushions—cheap material, no liner.

airstream cushions

guess i am less discerning...but i really like my original equipment cushions in my safari....great foam...comfortable..... and really not more expensive than having someone reinvent the wheel as it were to duplicate the size of cushions if that is what one is patterning after
just my 2 cents worth
