Curtains again!

Am looking for new curtains for an Excella 25" 1990, the fabric is all frayed on the originals.
Has anyone compared quality from AS and places like Ambruso?
Any opinions out there?
Thank you!
And would you go with a lighter color or a darker? Does one block light or hide dirt better?

we have Curtians from Ambruso and they are GREAT! They fit and I didn't have to make them. Ours are white and the fabric is heavy and sort of nubby. They are unlined. They block out a lot of light and keep the trailer dark at night but not during the day. They offer complete privacy. I love the white color because the trailer seems light inside even when they are closed - they reflect light - but i suspect this is one of those personal opinion things.

Anyone else...?

I have the lined drapes from Ambruso.
The fit and finish cannot be compared!
I have had four Airstreams and/or Argosys.
The factory curtains suck new or old compared to James P Ambruso.
You cannot got wrong with his drapes.
I have posted pictures on another thread here....

We also had our replaced with Ambruso and they are as great as mentioned above. Fit and finish are excellent and they really make the inside look attractive again.

Curtains again!

Arlene Fowler of Fowler Interiors in Symsonia, KY made the drapes in both of my coaches. In both cases, they are lined with a sun-blocker material and I am thrilled with the quality and durability. My favorites are the medium blue/silver drapes in the Overlander -- I went with the off-white that is very similar to the OEM fabric/color for my Argosy and the color is much lighter than I normally would have chosen, but it does make the coach appear larger/more spacious.

Fowler Interiors is a regular advertiser in the Blue Beret, and they have been refurbishing Airstream and Argosy interiors since the 1980s.

Good luck with your research!

Another endorsement for Ambruso..

We redid our 1988 Excella (came with mauve flowers and pink curtains..) and ordered drapes from Ambruso... They arrived pressed and folded in box, carefully labeled by window location, side and top/bottom... Fit perfectly, though re-installing units under valence box in rear a pain to work the sliders... (Whoever acquired Terry's Argosy 20 may have the original pink units with wavy patterns in fabric..)

For small fee you can order fabric sample card via Ambruso web site, and it helped us make decisions.. We went with lined units for both light and temp insulation... Also chose white with tan flecks to match vinyl on interior shell and lighten up interior. Would do again tomorrow if we needed another set of curtains.. Those who are really really handy with sewing machine might come close to matching look, but at a lot of hours...

Do any of these places carry window shades also? Our door shade is in pretty rough shape. I'd like to either find the material used originally so I can make another one or a replacement shade (with the trim and the snap).

As is usually the case: you get what you pay for, and the drapes made by Ambruso are top quality and the workmanship is excellent.
