curtain rods - new idea for updated/modern look

I've been trying to find an alternative to the original curtains and track rods for my 1973 and continue to come up empty. The PO removed most of the original hardware and added regular kirsch rods with shirred curtains. I want an exposed rod (no valence) and curtains with grommets.

All the regular home-style rods sit way too far off the wall. Though I ordered some alternative brackets already, they're sitting in a heap because I am not fully satisfied..... Then, this stick-on towel rod arrived (for my rental home) and the light went on.... I think these would make great curtain rods - they're inexpensive, unbelievably well made, and only sit 2" off the wall (not ideal for thick towels, but pretty good for trailer curtains.)

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The rod portion is packaged loose from the self-adhesive end pieces. So.... a longer rod could be inserted in place of the 12" rod. For the front windows, I could have the rod professionally bent (using the original as a template.)

The adhesive is unbelievably strong - think it would hold up to the heat inside a trailer?

FunKey (no longer the killer of fun, now the key to it)

Hi,

I am not sure if this is your style or will work for you but this couple had a solution for hanging curtains that looks really nice.

Replacement Curtain Rods

Hi Funkill,

You can get the bent rods with a small return at Designer Drapery Hardware, they're called French Return Rods

http://www.designerdraperyhardware.c...-curtain-rods/

And, for the back Airstream window, the hand draw track is available.

Good Luck!

Would love to have the ones with the returns. Unfortunately they stick too far off the wall for my liking - and wouldn't offer the light blocking I want.

Thanks for the links though... Cheers
