our 72 curtains have a upper and lower track with "special hooks on wheels" ours had been replaced previously and the lower track was not used. My wife just put new curtains she sewed, and only used half of the hooks. I took the curtains down and put a hook in between each hook she did so they would not hang down in between hooks. Anyway they are removed from the right hand side (looking foward) by sliding them off. I found this out by redoing the hooks on the right side first, rehanging the right side, then finding out the only way to get the left side off was to re-remove the right side
. We still don't use the lower track.
