Airstream used to sell their overstock retained material at the "Airstream store" at the International rally. I do not think they keep in stock any fabric over a couple years old.
It's not necesarily the "original" style of your Airstream, but the website, www.jandofabrics.com has a category "retro upholstery fabrics" - and you can order samples for a small fee...

I suspect that this is the case. I tried to locate some of this fabric and was not able to find any. My understanding is that it is only a few (somewhere around 3 or less?) years old. Calls from my local dealer came up empty.
I would still be interested if anyone comes across some.

I can't imagine that there is any hope to get the fabric from your '76 Caravanner today.
But hey, get your wife or girlfriend (but not both, at least not at the same time) to show you where they have seen good selections of upholstery fabric. I can't imagine how RV fabric should be any different than home type...?
Who knows, if you find a good shop in a large city you never know, you might be able to come close to duplicating the 33 year old stuff you have.

If your sofa is like mine ('75 Excella) it is just a classic cotton velour upholstery...any independent drapery store or upholstery shop should be able to find it for you...the books for this type of upholstery have tons of shades of gold, so be sure to take a pillow with you when you go to look. They tend to be higher ($25+ per yard) but they last forever...mine still looks brand new. The only wear to mine is on a couple of the buttons (mine is "tufted"), but not bad enuf to do anything about...

I got my curtain fabric there. I found out about them through airforums. They have some great mid century modern and other options there. The owner of the store is an Airstreamer. You can see pics of my trailer under the blog section of the website! He will send you some free sample swatches of fabrics you may like. If you are in the Charlotte area- swing by his store- there is a TON more that he doesn't have on the website...
You might look at Sunbrella fabrics- I had our interior redone by a local reupholstry wizard, and she has done a number of interior projects for me. I used a cool linen like fabric (photos to come) but I'm always concerned about sun damage. I end up using Sunbrella fabrics a lot for window seats in homes becauese it is indestructable, and they actually have some cool stuff now- some velours and other things that might be suitable for your re-do. What ever we use, I look for the wear ratings, how many rubs the fabric will endure, because I want the stuff to look great, but to be worry free to live with. Good luck
When I took my Gaucho in to a fabric shop here in Houston the Salesman said the original was called "Hurculon". It felt almost like burlap and was very "tweedy". Still got it if anybody wants it.
That burlap fabric went to our trash however it did not feel good !!!!!!!!!!!!
good luck ck out the link. those people are the best for service and quality .
