cat claw proof fitted slipcovers

My wife and I just purchased a new2014 30'Flying Cloud .The sofa and dinnette seating is covered in ultraleather. We are planning on travelling extensively with our cat. She has managed to spread our living room leather couch over the The last 2 years. We know that if we expect to take her with us we will need bulletproof sleepovers. Anybody have any idea where we could have these made up. Thanks Harry&Roxanne

We travel with a cat as well.
She has scratched my leather couch at home (not intentionally), but has not scratched the couch in the trailer, yet. She is old and has trouble jumping on my very large scale furniture at home. I put a small set of wooden steps for her to get in our ginormous king size bed. I need steps for her to get up on the big comfy couch, also. I think she has an easier time getting on the couch in the trailer because it is smaller/closer to the floor.. We do cover the furniture in the trailer with semi-matching bath towels to protect from claws and keep the cat hair down.

Welcome to the forums.
Having been around cats, I think it would not hurt if you explored more options than claw-proofing the upholstery. Chat with your veterinarian and see if declawing might be better for all concerned.

She already had her front claws removed we don't want to remove her rear claws just in case she escapes she won't be defenseless outdoors.

I had slip covers made for our Bambi at http://www.tbrich.com/azbambi/decors.html and they did a great job! You could get slip covers made that compliment the color. Congrats on your new Airstream!

We used to have a cat that was de-clawed front only, and had to keep her rear claws trimmed to protect the whole house, ourselves included. It was not a pleasant procedure, was a two person job, and made use of some of my old work boots.

We have a few cats, all with full claws - we've given them a sacrificial piece of leather furniture to scratch on, and that pretty much saves the rest. Anyway, I have a small bench in our bedroom, and it had a nubby fabric and piping that attracted scratching. Over time, the cover was destroyed. As an experiment, I recovered the bench with Crypton fabric, including making and sewing in new piping on the edge. Crypton is a tough, waterproof fabric designed for outdoor use, but comes in many patterns. It's used on high end hotel outdoor furniture. After six months or so, the test has been very positive. The cats have scratched on it, but it's virtually unnoticeable. Crypton is very expensive, but you can buy large remnants at newtoto.com , and you can get samples. My sewing machine is in for cleaning and service, but when I get it back I plan to work on new dinette covers for the Airstream using Crypton.
Declawing a cat is like cutting of the tips of your fingers to the first knuckle.

A few scratches here and there go with having a cat. I wouldn't take a million dollars for her.

Rather than declawing which is permanent, check out claw covers. We used them (the dog version) for our dogs to keep them from ruining our leather furniture and scratching up the wood floors. They glue on the nails and then are periodically shed when the cat sheds each claw.
