The bunks look great.
How did you make the bottom one to slide out 20 inches?
(will want to try to do that too, if I can!)

Well the wife and kids spent the night at the in laws, so that have me a full day of mowing and working on the AS.

I was able to finish the bracing on the walls, and to rough in the bunks.

Oh and my walls are not blue, I put in some LED lights, the were labeled as bright white, but they are really a light blue

So the drivers side bunk is fixed in place, the walls are pretty narrow in that side so the bunk is only 22" wide.

The street side bunk is larger so I roughed it in as a slider. It's 30" wide fully open, and 16" closed. I still need finish staining and polyurethaning them. Polyurethane, 4-6 hours in between coats, that just kills me!!

Before the final install ill have to replace the bug screens in the windows and the 4x6 speakers. But it's moving along..

Try the new water based polyurethanes. They dry much quicker and are almost as hard as the mineral based. You will need about three coats on surfaces that are exposed to wear, but with one hour dry time you can do three coats in one day. The water based finishes also will slow the fading of stains that occurs over time.

Ok the bunks are almost done, I just need to build ladders so the kids can climb in and out. I'm thinking ladders that just hook on that can be moved out of the way if needed. Rope ladders would be cool too..

Ok here are some pics of the sliding bunk. It sides back almost 10 ". I can sit on the bottom bunk and not bump my head. The street side the bunk is fixed into place.

So it passed the happy consumer test! My wife also climbed into the street side bunk, it was a tight fit but it held her weight. It was too tight for an adult, but will be great for the kids.

We are hoping to have the front dinette done by then. Me and the better can sleep on it, and the kids can use the twin beds. The upper bunks can then function as storage. They are currently about 20" wide.

A rope ladder would be cool and easier to store.

Yea I'm leaning to a rope ladder. A ridged ladder will be in the way, and would have to sit on the bed.

I was thinking of a narrow ladder that can double as a guard rail when traveling. We typically throw things on the bunks during travel and it would be nice to have a guard to keep it from falling off. Also, after the kids get settled it could clip into the top bunk at night.

It is the Allure Dark African Wood sticky sides vinyl planks from Home Depot. It was the easiest flooring I have ever installed. It my wife and about 6 hours to install through the whole trailer. That does not include the prep work.

My brother in law sells flooring for a living, and he thinks very highly of brand/style. Installing it in a RV voids the warranty, but I have spoke to others who have had it installed in the units for years without problems. It was installed here in Fl in the summer. So far no problems. Dogs and kids have been in and out of it, no scrapes so far.. I'll keep my fingers crossed....

I think there is more pics posted on my rear end separation thread.

The guard rail/ ladder is a good idea, could even work as a bed rail... Humm..

Thanks a bunch! We actually have a sample of your exact floor sitting in our AS now while we're trying to decide. Glad to hear you've not had any problems with it. We also live in Florida and have a dog (no kids), so were wondering how it would stand up to heat and claws. It looks beautiful!

Oh, I wish we could! We missed it last year by a day (we were camped at Topsail for New Year's Eve) and vowed to go to the next one, but I believe it's a little later in January now, and I have to return to work (I'm a teacher). We're sorry to miss it since it looks like a blast! Thanks, though, and enjoy it.
