Blinds vs. Oceanair Window Shades

My trailer came with the Oceanair Shades. I liked them at first. A few issues: if you don't roll them ABSOLUTELY straight the edges fray (they are more than $100 each to replace). Also, the blackout backing separated from one of them in the BR (replaced under warranty). Major issue: either they are up or down -- no light variation possible. And, in the summer if I open the windows, the pulled blind blocks the fresh air. So, I just replaced all of the Oceanair shades with custom made 1/2 " brushed aluminum venetian blinds from blinds.com. Not difficult to install. Think I like the look better, and for sure the ability to regulate light. Since I have curtains in the BR I'm not worried about side light leakage.

Bab, you are really doing some nice customization on that Airstream. That looks terrific.

We like the original aluminum blinds that came with our FC for the same reasons mentioned. Light and visibility control while allowing air flow. And I think they look great in the trailer compared to the open or closed shades.

The problem with either one is privacy from anyone who may choose to window peek through the somewhat open edges. Your curtains are a good looking solution.

Barry, your modifications are simply stunning!!! Looking forward to comparing notes with you again at another rally. Are you going to Region 3? Your new blinds look great! We're looking for something which projects less for directly over two top bunks-- any suggestions?
