Pulleys, tracks and clips

Ok...TinLizzy will be changed soon...I get the hint... I just heard it once and thought it ws cute.... I'm pretty good with names, tho'...so I'll come up with a better one...

Re: the pull-up blinds...and the clips and tracks. You know what? I have these tracks I've been sort of advertising here...but they were used in my A/S across the top for a curtain to hang down on. I'll just bet these were originally down each side of the windows...???? AND the clips...Yes...I have some on a piece of elastic...and some were just sewn straight on the curtain and then the clip is slid onto the track eh?

Well...perhaps I should save the extras I have, in case I want to do curtains like the ones shown in this 'thread' someday.

But, I'm not sure how the 'pulley's look or how they work? I don't have those. I just have the tracks (aluminum) and clips

I hear those clips are very very hard to find.... TRUE?

Yes, the plastic end clips which I have are simply not available anywhere! The pulleys aren't either but I was able to find pulleys that are almost identical. I am attaching photos of the clip and pulley used on my woven blind. I did order the little clips with the elastic attaching strap and I am going to try and use them today. I really only needed three of the originals, but close only counts in horseshoes. I'm sure you will come up with a colorful name! Just checked - guess I don't know how to insert a photo in the forums.

It's easy...

Dr Joe,

There is a section titled "Attach file" at the bottom of the screen to post a reply. It's just above the last section titled "Rate this Thread."

In the Attach file section, click on the browse button and find your saved file on your computer. The image can't be larger that 600 x 600. (I always have to crop and reduce the size of my photos to make them fit.) Click on the "Submit Reply" button, and you're done.

BTW - I'm looking forward to seeing you next weekend at Mystic Springs.

Dr Joe,
Are these like your clips?
When I replaced my blinds, I only used 3 instead of four on each side. I was able to replace the broken ones and have these spares for future replacements. (Sorry, not for sale)
Attach a picture by clicking browse in the attach file line. A window opens displaying files on your computer. If you use Netscape, you need to change type of files to 'All files' in order to see your jpg's etc.

Yes, those are exactly the type of clip I have Peter - since you only used three per half blind, I know now that I can do likewise and I am only going to be short three of them. Tried three times to send picture, but I keep getting message they are too big, and being a computer nerd, I am not able to figure out how to reduce the size (HeHe)

I don't think I can give lessons in reducing image size via this forum. But I'll bring a laptop and be glad to show you next weekend.

Hi Dr Joe- open your photo up in a program like Microsoft photo editor, image editor, or what have you- other photo programs like the one that probably came with your camera will work well.
For an example if you are in photo editor, when you add a photo to your page, you can edit the photo size by going to "format" picture, and adjusting it there You can cllick around until you see resize, and adjust the size in inches or pixels.
You can also click on the photo, and drag a corner in or out to resize it. Whatever way you do this be sure when you save the photo you save it as a JPEG (the options are at the bottom of the save box, accessed by an arrow.
The photos are easier to edit and save in the Photo editing programs, mentioned above. Even Printmaster if you have that will usually have a photo editor section.
One more thing, you can always save a photo in its new edited form( if you copy and paste it in the editor), if you want to also keep the original one, just give it a different name.
Hope this all makes some sense.
If you have no photo editor, try ZDNET.COM, they may have freeware download.

Dr Joe,
Caution, removing the clips can and will damage your blinds.
If only the little sliding pin broke, you can easily make a new pin from a piece of plastic.
If you move existing clips, you need to observe the fold of the blind prior to mounting them.
Use 3M's clear plastic and emblem adhesive.

Blinds & Attachments

I just lost my email I wrote, so I've now forgotten WHO I should talk to about what....
My clips aren't exactly like those, so I'm just going to have to get the photos of them this weekend, Easter or not...Queen Mum passing or not.

My tracks are very tiny...you'll see.

The attachments... Ok. I thought it depended on the 'format'... ??Like "jpeg" "gif" or WHATEVER. ??
"bmp" will NOT work I think because that format allows for artistic changes to the photo. HOWEVER!!! I tried to download a "jpeg" photo of "Bear" for my Avatar...and it WILL NOT work. So, to any of the 'computer whizzes" out there...PLEASE TELL US HOW...and K.I.S.S. for all us who REALLY ARE!!!

Thank you.......Cat

AHEM!!! Andy!! I want to change my AVATAR!! Please..
I asked you a while back and haven't heard anything from you about it. I even sent the request in the place above where it asks us to request our rig if it's not included in the Archives..
(I even sent you the photo.)
I know you are super busy....would you like me to send it again? I will if you just ask..

I'm going to try again for this post...nope I can't seem to open "My Pictures" from the Computer...Maybe I need to transfer it to a disc first? I'll try that and write back.

Cat and Bear,
Go to "About these forums, How-to's and more" for an answer to your question.
I will try to guide you in the right direction.
Posting unrelated questions deep inside a thread will not help the next person with the same problem.
