Black stains
Yesterday I power washed the 59 Overlander. There is some black pitting on the skin and roof. There was also something that dripped on top and ran down over the end caps. Mostly came off with metal polish were I tested it. Did not come off with citrus paint stripped.
Then I power washed the inside. Everything is out, including the rear floor section. Much of the interior had been painted twice, blue / green, then white. The mildew / mold came back after two bleachings. So.. car wash solution, bleach for the 3rd time, deck restorer, more direct hit power washing from 1 inch away. Alast there is a black stain in the zolatone that does not come off in places that were not painted. Not a big deal on the few panels I'll be replacing because of holes. The latex paint came off some places but not all. Then under the paint more layers of black stains. There was no indication of a fire so it must be mold / mildew. (whats the difference anyway).
I need a stripper which will take off the latex paint but leave the zolatone. I really don't what to have to deal with stripping the ceiling or good walls. Then how to kill the black stuff so a year or two from now it's not working it's way to the surface again.
Also, any reason to not use the olympic rivets for the interior other than size.
